Wait for it...
Yes, I have been dabbling in this for a while. In fact, my first official design work is already available in book format on Amazon (pictures to follow). Covers and layout, colour or black and white, PDF, html, epub, WHATEVER. It's all about to go down right here.
These additional services, I am hoping, will solve some trouble for self publishing authors. Though many folks realize that there is a need for editing before they publish their book, not as many realize that the way the book is presented can effect sales numbers too. It has been said that one should not judge a book by its cover, but guess what? We do that. And if the interior is not laid out in a way that is appealing and easy to follow (I'm an editor, I live by the four Cs of editing---Clarity, Consistency, Correctness, and Continuity---which also lend themselves swimmingly to book design), readers will not be as keen to pick the book up. That's where I come in.
So, starting with the interior of an upcoming title at BookFish Books LLC., and followed by a few short stories by the wonderful (ah-hem) author Kat Hawthorne, my published design list is growing.
So please find below a few samples of the design work I did for Kat Hawthorne's short story "Almost Alive" (available to purchase HERE), which demonstrate some of the design work I've done.I am very excited about this and can't wait to share some of my other design work with you as well.
If you have a design related question, please ask it! I am all for being nerdy in multiple ways.
